AMA Recap: Demystifying deBridge’s New Approach to Cross-chain Liquidity

Written by BTSE

October 30, 2024

In a recent AMA on BTSE’s official Telegram group, deBridge’s Head of Marketing Jonnie Emsley and Head of Business Development Gal Stern gave insights into their unique approach to cross-chain liquidity, exciting plans for 2024-2025, and the powerful capabilities of deBridge’s native token, DBR.

Here’s a breakdown of the key takeaways.

Introducing the Team Behind deBridge

Jonnie and Gal, who joined the crypto world in 2017, each bring diverse experiences from fintech, blockchain, and venture capital to deBridge.

Jonnie leads the marketing efforts, while Gal focuses on business development, both aiming to advance deBridge’s goal of seamless cross-chain asset transfers.

How deBridge is Facilitating Cross-Chain Swaps

deBridge is reimagining cross-chain asset transfers, enabling users to instantly swap tokens across blockchains.

Unlike traditional liquidity pool bridges, deBridge uses a peer-to-peer, intent-based model, avoiding the common pitfalls and bottlenecks seen in classic bridge solutions.

Key features of deBridge include:

  • Instant Transfers Across Chains: No delays in token swaps between blockchain networks.
  • Solana Support: Leveraging Solana’s efficiency for real-time settlements.
  • User-Friendly Experience: Predictable, guaranteed rates.
  • Security and Reliability: Zero locked liquidity pools and a spotless security record with 100% uptime since launch.

The DBR Token and Its Utility

The deBridge ecosystem is powered by the DBR governance token, which allows holders to actively participate in deBridge’s evolution through DAO voting.

Staking DBR tokens gives users a voice in ecosystem decisions and future developments.

Roadmap Highlights for 2024 and Beyond

deBridge has ambitious milestones lined up, including:

  1. Native Custody for Bitcoin: Soon, users will be able to instantly trade assets for Bitcoin, thanks to deBridge’s integration with Solana as a settlement layer.
  2. Solana for Low-Cost Payments: deBridge plans to make Solana the standard for payment transfers due to its low transaction fees, targeting high-fee networks like USDT on Tron.
  3. Same-Chain Trading Intents: Expanding their intent engine to allow same-chain trades without gas fees or slippage.
  4. Gasless Transactions: deBridge is working towards a gasless experience, eliminating slippage adjustments, failed transactions, and front-running.

A Key Differentiator: No Liquidity Pools

Gal explained that one major factor setting deBridge apart is its lack of liquidity pools, which not only speeds up transactions but also eliminates the risks associated with total value locked (TVL) on classic bridges.

Through peer-to-peer matching, users’ funds are transferred instantly on the destination chain, making deBridge fast, secure, and highly efficient.

This AMA offered a valuable look at how deBridge is building a more efficient, secure, and user-friendly cross-chain ecosystem, paving the way for seamless DeFi interactions across blockchain networks.

With DBR governance and exciting innovations on the horizon, deBridge is set to be a major player in the future of decentralized finance.
