BTSE recently listed CREO, the utility token for Creo Engine, an emerging web3 GameFi platform. We recently sat down with the co-founders of CREO Engine, Javier Tan (CREO Co-Founder, CEO), and Darrel Wijaya (CREO Co-Founder, CTO) for an AMA session, offering a wealth of insights into their roadmap and vision going forward. You can listen to the AMA here.
Making Web3 Gaming Accessible for Newcomers
CREO Engine aims to make Web3 gaming highly accessible to newcomers. Despite significant advancements, the world of crypto and its underlying technology remains intimidating for many. The founders of CREO Engine are dedicated to welcoming beginners with open arms, providing an accessible platform for those new to crypto.
Beyond accessibility, the potential of NFTs to create unique digital assets sets Web3 gaming apart from traditional gaming. Unlike many gaming studios that prioritize profits for stakeholders, CREO’s leaders are gamers at heart. Their mission is simple: to provide quality games that are genuinely fun. They place great importance on user feedback, ensuring that the customer journey is always prioritized.
Empowering Players
CREO envisions a future where permissionless games have extremely low transaction fees and other on-chain activities. This new era will allow digital assets to be easily tradable across the blockchain, giving players control over their assets and enabling opportunities for income creation. The emphasis on digital legacy is a key aspect of what the Web3 game industry aims to achieve.
Considering the millions of unbanked individuals or those struggling to access traditional financial resources, CREO believes that Web3 gaming services could provide a viable alternative. The CREO ecosystem allows users to play, buy, sell, and interact within a community-driven environment. As Darrel Wijaya put it, “We could imagine this kind of product being very useful, reaching out to millions of people and taking the gaming narrative to the next level.”
Focusing on Developers
Developers are equally crucial to the success of the CREO Engine. With Web3, CREO aims to create games that leverage blockchain technology for interoperability and cross-collaboration. NFTs will have various use cases across different titles, thanks to cross-chain compatibility.
Even developers who are new to the space are welcome in the CREO community. They can upload their Web2 games and use CREO’s DApps and tools to transition into the Web3 world. CREO’s developer tools and toolkits will enable collaboration among developers, facilitating cross-play for players. The CREO ecosystem is designed to be a thriving environment where developers and users can pursue their passion for gaming through secure blockchain technology.
The Future of Gaming with CREO
The CREO token is primarily utilized as a governance token within the ecosystem. Developers can use it to create assets, subscribe to features for discounts and premium purchases, and players can use it for marketplace transactions. While different games developed by CREO will have their own tokens, the CREO token will remain the primary currency, offering potential yields for token holders.
With over 20,000 registered wallets on the Creo Play app, this number is expected to grow significantly. Miniature apps and referral systems are also in development, aiming to add further value to digital assets. “We want our digital assets to have value,” said one of the co-founders. “We want people to make money from our digital assets and from the games on the platform. We aim to create a comfortable, reliable, and accessible platform where even the newest Web3 gamers can easily onboard and get started.”
Conclusion
Overall, the future of Web3 gaming is promising with the innovations brought by CREO Engine. Their commitment to fun, accessibility for newcomers, developer-friendly tools, interoperability, and empowering both players and developers sets them apart from traditional gaming models. CREO Engine is poised to make a significant impact on the Web3 gaming landscape.
