Aergo (AERGO)
AERGO is native to Aergo, an open-source enterprise blockchain platform that is optimized for hybrid deployments, meaning that developers can design, build and deploy blockchain-based applications on permissioned or permissionless networks. Aergo is designed to be flexible and user-friendly. Its smart contract language, Lua, makes it easy for developers to program decentralized applications (dApps), where even kids can develop their own dApps, according to Aergo.
The native token, AERGO, can be used to pay for transaction fees on-chain and also supports governance through staking to promote decentralization on the network. Aergo adopts a hybrid token model – there is an ERC-20 token state and a native token state. The ERC-20 AERGO coins are used for liquidity and trading on crypto exchanges, and the native AERGO coins are used for utility on the platform.
AERGO currently has a circulating supply of around 408 million tokens out of a total of 500 million, trading at $0.14 as of August 18, 2022.
