KLAY is native to Klaytn, a public and service-centric blockchain platform focusing on the development of the metaverse, gamefi, and the creator economy. At the beginning of 2022, Klaytn Foundation, a non-profit organization established to accelerate global adoption and ecosystem maturity on Klaytn, announced the Klaytn 2.0 roadmap, which aims to optimize transaction experience, build infrastructure and make the technology more accessible.
The native token, KLAY, can be used for all transactions on the blockchain and all the other applications built on the network. It mainly facilitates payment and exchange for applications within the Klaytn ecosystem.
KLAY currently has a circulating supply of around 2.9 billion tokens, trading at $0.30 as of August 11, 2022.
