Bubblemaps ($BMT): Visualizing Crypto Analytics

Written by BTSE

Blockchain data is often complex, noisy, and technical, which can make it hard for most people to grasp. Bubblemaps changes that by turning this data into colorful, engaging maps that make it easy and fun to explore crypto. The platform tackles common issues in the crypto world, like confusing tokenomics, memecoin founders dumping on retail investors, celebrities secretly holding large amounts of tokens, and the lack of transparency from launchpads, influencers, and venture capitalists.

Using Bubblemaps

Bubblemaps makes it easy for anyone, no matter their experience with crypto, to dive into blockchain data. First, enter the token name or contract address (e.g., $PEPE)  into the search bar.

The map displays token holders as bubbles, with larger bubbles representing holders possessing more tokens. Each bubble corresponds to a unique wallet, and by default, contracts and exchanges are hidden, but they can be revealed by clicking the eye icon. Supernodes are identified as addresses with a significant number of transactions.

By clicking on any bubble, you can view detailed information about the token holder, including how many tokens they own, their current value, and any associated groups. Additionally, connected bubbles indicate token transfers between holders, and you can click these connections to view detailed transaction information, including dates.

The map also allows you to observe how token distribution has evolved over time, from the launch of the token to its current state. For convenience, you can easily share your findings by generating a link or export the holder data as a spreadsheet.

A Little Magic Involved

(Screenshot from Bubblemaps)

Magic Nodes reveal hidden connections between token holders that aren’t visible on the regular map. Some addresses involved in transactions (like those receiving gas fees or sending funds to the same wallet) might not show up as top holders, but they still influence token movements. Magic Nodes uncovers these links, offering a deeper look into holder relationships and revealing patterns that would otherwise stay hidden. Without Magic Nodes, you’d only see direct connections between top holders. With Magic Nodes, you can spot suspicious activity and coordinated moves more easily.

Blast to the Past

Time Travel lets you explore how a token’s distribution has changed over time. You can view snapshots of the token’s holder map at different points in its history, from launch day to today. This feature helps you spot key patterns like early allocations to insiders, venture capitalists, or market makers. Time Travel is especially useful for spotting potential manipulation by founders or large holders. When combined with Magic Nodes, it gives you even more powerful insights into holder behavior across different time periods. Simply click on the price chart or choose a specific date to see how the token’s distribution looked back then.

The $BMT Token

$BMT is Bubblemaps’ native token, designed to empower users and drive the platform’s community-powered ecosystem.

With $BMT, users can submit on-chain investigation cases, vote on which ones should be prioritized, and allocate resources for community research. This creates a decentralized environment where everyone has a say in what matters most.

Holding $BMT unlocks exclusive features in Bubblemaps V2, including advanced investigative tools, deeper insights, and enhanced analytics that help uncover complex transactions and patterns.

$BMT also powers Bubblemaps’ reward system. Users earn $BMT for contributing—whether by proposing investigations, voting, or assisting with research. This encourages collaboration and helps grow the network of on-chain detectives. In the end, the community decides which investigations deserve attention, ensuring that Bubblemaps stays focused on the most important issues in crypto.
