Two-factor authentication, commonly referred to as 2FA, provides an added measure of security to your BTSE account. It ensures that you—and only you—have the power to access your account by utilizing an authentication code produced by your mobile device.
Once 2FA is activated on your account, you’ll be prompted to input a unique, time-sensitive code every time you sign in or initiate withdrawals, as well as a verification code sent to your e-mail address.
Let’s get started.
Steps to Set Up 2FA
First, log into your BTSE account and head to the “Security” section, which should be located on your account profile’s Dashboard.
Click “Set Up”.
Install the Google Authenticator App.
Get the Google Authenticator App. Once downloaded, click “Get Started”.
For iOS users: Navigate to the App Store, search for “Google Authenticator”, or click here.
For Android users: Head to Google Play, type in “Google Authenticator” in the search bar, or click here.
For Android users in China: Please click here.
Click “Add Code”.
Going back to the Security Page, use your phone’s Google Authenticator app to scan the QR code under “Link your BTSE Account”, or copy and paste the code in.
Once done, you will see a 6-digit code displayed. Paste this into the “2 Factor Authentication Code” section.
You will also receive a verification message sent to the email address connected to your account; paste the code in the “Verification Code” section on the BTSE interface.
Once enabled, you will be automatically signed out.
Going forward, every time you log into your account, you’ll have to use the Google Authenticator app and e-mail verification code.
