BTSE Announcement

Dear BTSE API users,

We would like to inform you about an upcoming change to our API error handling that aims to improve your experience and provide better precision when you encounter issues.

Starting March 29, 2023, BTSE will rearrange some of the HTTP error codes, specifically changing certain instances of Error 400 (Bad Request) to Error 401 (Unauthorized). This update will give you a clearer understanding of the issue encountered and enable you to resolve it more effectively.

Here’s a summary of the changes:

  • Invalid or expired API key: Previously reported as Error 400, this will now return Error 401.
  • Insufficient permissions for the API key: Previously reported as Error 400, this will now return Error 401.
  • Other authentication-related issues: Previously reported as Error 400, these will now return Error 401.

Please note that Error 400 will still be used for non-authentication-related issues, such as malformed requests or invalid input parameters.

To prepare for this update, we encourage you to review your current error-handling practices and make any necessary adjustments to accommodate the new error code assignments. Our updated API documentation will be available on March 29, 2023, to assist you with these changes.

We believe these improvements will result in a more precise and efficient troubleshooting process for our valued API users. Should you have any questions or need further assistance, please don’t hesitate to contact our support team at support@btse.com.

Thanks for your continued support.

Sincerely,

BTSE Team
